Pumpkin Illustration

This was an assignment from my Drawing Class in College. It was made so I could practice shading with multiple colors, instead of purely black and white.

I created a basic outline of the reference image as a starting point. I then used Conte Crayons to color and shade everything

I had to create discernable shapes with clear shading and depth using only colors between orange and brown. I also had to decide what highlights and shadows I had to emphasize with what colors, before filling in the in between colors.

It gave me good practice and experience with detailed shading for physical art. It also helped me practice how to work within limitations.
